Del Cerro Modern
This project began in 2021 with a kitchen renovation—and evolved into a deeply collaborative, years-long transformation between designer and homeowner. From the start, there was an instant creative alignment: she wanted natural materials that would age gracefully, pieces that told a story, and a home that felt layered and lived-in.
The design process was unusually hands-on. The client, a marketing professor and family photographer, was deeply involved in sourcing and decision-making, often sharing mood boards and inspiration decks that we refined together. It wasn’t quick—but the result is a home that feels entirely personal.
Located in San Diego’s Del Cerro neighborhood (sometimes called the “La Jolla of East County”), the home is a single-level 1950s ranch with original mid-century bones. We leaned into that structure while layering in European-inspired fixtures, organic materials, and a touch of traditional detailing. The result is a collected mix of mid-century warmth and timeless charm—anchored in natural textures, thoughtful choices, and true collaboration.
