Lake Hodges Revival
This home belongs to a busy family with two working parents and a serious love for cooking and hosting. The original kitchen was a tiny, 1950s galley-style setup tucked into the back corner of a long, rectangular room... barely big enough for one person to move around.
The goal was to open everything up and give the matriarch the kitchen she deserved: expansive, inviting, and full of storage. We knocked down walls, extended the footprint of the kitchen, and designed a ten-foot island as a central gathering space for everyday meals and big holiday spreads alike.
One of our favorite transformations was repurposing an oversized (and oddly placed) 1970s wet bar into a new laundry room, bringing function back into the home without sacrificing charm. In its place, we built a dry bar with a wine fridge and glassware storage, just enough to feel elevated but still super livable. It’s a bright, functional space now, tailored to the way this family really lives.
